Privacy Policy

At Le Beaujolais, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our patrons and visitors. This policy explains how we handle your information in compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect data that is necessary to provide our services:
  • Table Reservations: When you book a table, your data (name, email, phone number) is processed by our third-party booking provider, resOS.
  • Website Usage: Our website host, Squarespace, provides us with anonymous analytics (such as which pages are visited) to help us improve the site.
  • Direct Contact: If you email or call us, we use your contact details solely to respond to your inquiry.
2. Lawful Basis for Processing
We process your personal data under the following legal bases:
  • Contractual Necessity: To fulfill and manage your restaurant or wine bar reservation.
  • Legitimate Interests: To maintain the security of our premises (CCTV) and to improve our customer service.
3. Third-Party Services
  • Web Hosting: Squarespace hosts our domain and website.
  • Bookings: We use resOS to manage reservations. They act as a data processor on our behalf. We recommend reviewing the resOS Privacy Policy for details on how they secure your data.
  • Payments: We do not take payments or sell goods through this website. All financial transactions occur in person at our premises.
4. Cookies
We have enabled a cookie banner on this site. You have the choice to "Accept" or "Reject" cookies upon your first visit. These cookies are used for basic website functionality and performance analytics. We do not use cookies for targeted third-party advertising.
5. Future Communications
We currently do not offer an email newsletter or account creation. Should we launch an email sign-up form in the future, it will operate on an "opt-in" basis, and you will always have the right to unsubscribe instantly.
6. CCTV
For the safety of our guests and staff, our premises at 25 Litchfield Street are monitored by CCTV. Images are recorded for security purposes only and are automatically overwritten after 30 days unless required for a specific legal investigation.
7. Data Retention
Booking data is retained by resOS according to their security protocols to manage repeat visits. General inquiries are deleted once resolved. We do not store your data longer than is legally or operationally necessary.
8. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
